Birdseed wreath made in a bundt pan. Kids loved mixing this concoction. We also made some mini ones in a cupcake tin, and burrowed a little hole so that they could be hung with a ribbon. Elliott gave them to his class for Valentine's Day. See instructions at:

  1. Ours was very popular in Indian Lake. It attracted chickadees, a nice big bluejay and lots of other little birds and the inevitable red squirrel. He somehow got it off the big pine and took it home. I had to keep telling myself "Forever Wild."

    1. Our new one was recently discovered by a squirrel too, which has ruined the bird feast. We had a lot of chickadees and a male and female cardinal, and a bunch of other birds I can't identify. It was really fun watching from the kitchen window--which birds would swoop down, grab something, and go back to the tree; which ones would aggressively butt others out of the way, and which ones were oblivious or just chose to feast on the scraps on the patio as opposed to the main entree. . . a lot like human behavior and dynamics, I suppose. :)
